Daniel Kaluuya won his first Oscar Sunday night for Best Supporting Actor for his performance in
Judas and the Black Messiah. He played the late Illinois Black Panther Party chairman Fred Hampton.
“Bro, we out here,” he said in his acceptance speech. In a nod to his co-star who was also a Best Supporting Actor nominee, Kaluuya said, “I share this honor with the light that is LaKeith Stanfield.”
