Call for patience as Covid-19 jabs rolled out in Selby

Those who have already had their jab have been expressing their gratitude. For the past month, Posterngate Surgery in Selby and Tadcaster Health Centre, next to Tadcaster Medical Centre, have been hosting vaccination hubs to serve patients registered with seven district GP practices. Both local NHS staff and members of the public have been giving an insight into the process, with thousands of people across the district having received their first dose of the vaccine. Front-line NHS staff have also been getting vaccinated. Staff have been vaccinating members of priority groups, starting with the over-80s, and going into care homes to immunise residents and workers.

First residents in Selby and Tadcaster get Covid-19 vaccine

Joyce Hayton was among the first to get the vaccine PEOPLE living in Selby district have started to receive the coronavirus vaccine. Posterngate Surgery and Tadcaster Health Centre will both be acting as a ‘primary care hubs’ on behalf of the Selby Town and Tadcaster and Rural Selby Primary Care Networks (PCNs). Eligible patients currently aged over 84 in the area who are most at risk from serious harm of COVID-19 have started to receive the much awaited vaccine. The priority groups are in line with the Joint Committee on Vaccination and Immunisation (JCVI) in order to protect the most vulnerable.
