In a matter of minutes, a single alarm fire fire and gilbert fire rescue crews were battling these ferocious flames, four apartment buildings destroyed, three of them ultimately collapsing. The fire spreading not only because of the intense heat but the framework, mostly plywood. Without drywall you up, the rate at which flames spread is drastically different. Its much faster. Suicide. Police discovered the bodies around 10 00 last night. A neighbor called police after hearing gunshots and the exwife called police asking them to do a welfare check at this house because she was worried about her exhusband and their two young daughters. Police say when officers got here, they discovered the father and the girls in an upstairs bedroom. According to police, the father shot the two girls before turning the gun on himself. We told us that the parents had recently split up, that the wife had just moved out of te house about five months ago, and that he knew the couple was going through some problems. He says he is just absolutely heartbroken at what happened, and he himself is having a hard time coping with this tragedy.
