After attending an open house Saturday at The Dawn Theatre in Hillsdale, memories of times spent there over the years came flooding back.
As restoration continues on the Dawn Theater, the Friends of the Dawn held the open house, kicking off a fundraising campaign for continuing work. Visitors could peak inside to see the progress of what has been done during the rehabilitation project.
The event included a live remote at The Dawn by WCSR from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. A drawing was held to give away a basket filled with movie goodies including candy, popcorn, 3-D glasses and more. Member Connie Sexton, always a hostess at every event she promotes, had baked cookies and made popcorn to give out to guests, along with bottled water.
