washington post steve hendricks. steve, thank you so much for being here. let s just start, first of all, with, if you will, what this actually means going forward. tell us a little bit about what was passed and how it will shape the relationship between the government and judiciary going forward and what will it do to the government s power? well, there s still a lot of uncertainty here. the bill passed into law yesterday was one part of a much bigger overhaul of the judiciary with this new right-wing coalition led by benjamin netanyahu promised in january. this piece simply goes to a piece of judicial review that s the power of the court to look at certain government actions and appointments. and because it s effectively invalid or unconstitutional, if they re not being reasonable under the standards of the court, the government says that s overreach, that they have a right to make these decisions on their own.
