Councillor Steve Hastings Confirmed Conservative Party Leader On Isle Of Wight

Councillor Steve Hastings has been confirmed as the new leader of the Isle of Wight Conservative Party.

Sources close to Isle of Wight Radio say there were no challengers to the top job in the party at last night s internal meeting (Friday).
As first reported by Isle of Wight Radio, Cllr Hastings, who has been on the Isle of Wight Council for four years and represents the Brighstone, Calbourne and Shalfleet ward - was made acting interim leader of the Isle of Wight Council after the election.

The results for Brighstone, Calbourne and Shalfleet on a turnout of 48,77 per cent were:

New Leader For Isle Of Wight Conservatives As Dave Stewart s Successor Is Chosen

The Isle of Wight Conservatives have chosen a new interim leader - less than 24 hours on from Dave Stewart s ousting.
Cllr Steve Hastings has been picked as Mr Stewart s successor and will now head up the Island s Conservative Group.
Cllr Hastings has been on the Isle of Wight Council for four years and yesterday retained his seat by winning the Brighstone, Calbourne and Shalfleet.
