next thing i know the altercation jumps out and the other one stabbed him, over there fighting. the first thing we saw, this was a rush on the 7-eleven. they pretty much pushed the owner out the door and next thing you know, they ran across the street and apparently they re in the zoo. next thing we saw was just a bunch of young people running through the zoo. whole bunch of people running through the zoo. then the police or the security are pretty much chasing these people throughout the zoo. they were knocking over strollers and things like there are babies in the strollers. reporter: police say a teenager had been jumped and stabbed by a group of young people. they say the attack continued after the victim left the zoo. at some point the stabbing victim left the grounds of the zoo and possibly could have encountered the same group where he was possibly stabbed again and then the suspect or suspects fled the zoo. reporter: investigators say the victim who wa

tragic scene. a young child dead in a fire. a firefighter and several others in the hospital. good evening. i m jim vance. and i m doreen gentzler. it started in a two-story building. dorothy spencer joins us from the scene. dorothy? reporter: they re still here on the scene of this deadly fire trying to figure out the cause. d.c. fire officials are confirming that a 5-year-old boy did diaz a result of this blaze and that a d.c. firefighter was also injured, serious burns to his hands as a result of the blaze here tonight. the blaze broke out just before 6:30 this evening in the 3100 block of buena vista terrace. several people were trapped inside. the fire started in the front apartment, which cut off their exit out the front door, so everyone went to the back, and they were held up by bars. on the windows? yeah, on the windows. our cruise cut the bars pretty fast and removed seven people. reporter: fire officials say two adults as well as two additional children
