AS MANY of us enjoyed sinking a sunny pint in a pub beer garden or spent the bank holiday weekend visiting the myriad amount of beauty spots in Powys, councillors in Llandrindod Wells were giving the spa town a spring clean. A number of town councillors – including mayor Steve Deeks-D Silva – joined Llandrindod county councillors Jake Berriman and Pete Roberts in piking litter and tidying up the Temple Gardens area of the town, in readiness for what many hope will be a busy summer tourism season later in the year. Councillor Berriman, who represents the town’s north ward, said on the town council’s Facebook page on Sunday: “It was a pleasure to join mayor Steve Deeks-D Silva, fellow councillor Pete Roberts and many members of Llandrindod Wells Town Council in a bit of a clean-up around Temple Gardens today in readiness for the summer tourist season and the reopening of the Metropole Hotel and Spa which faces onto this lovely community space.
