Condition sheets for opening week at Running Aces are now available to horsepeople.
They have been published on the USTA website and are also available in the race office building near the MHRI office. Trainers are reminded that all paperwork must be submitted to MRC before entry to race. All trainers and drivers (including ship-in stables) must have current, completed racing applications on file with director of racing Steve Carpenito.
The live racing season kicks off on Sunday, May 16, with first post at 6:05 p.m. Central. Racing will be offered on Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday evenings all summer long, and the 56-day meeting will close on Sept. 18. There are three special racing cards on the schedule: Monday, July 5; Friday, Sept. 17; and Saturday, Sept. 18. July 4 is a dark day.
The 2021 harness racing season is fast approaching at Running Aces, and the first session of qualifying races, to be held Friday (May 7), has been drawn and posted.
The 2021 draw schedule has also been published by the race office. The box will close at 9 a.m. sharp on draw days, which will be Monday for Thursday, Wednesday for Sunday, and Thursday for Tuesday. Driver changes and scratch deadline is 9 a.m. sharp on the morning following the draw. The race office is open at 7:30 a.m. on draw days, and will close one hour after the draw is posted. The race office will also be open from 8 a.m. to 12 noon on Tuesdays and Fridays, and will be open from 4 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. on race nights.
