A group of men from the Irwin-North Huntingdon-Trafford-Murrysville areas who qualify for senior citizen status still play softball well enough to capture a world championship in a winter tournament in Florida. The HC Global Men’s 60 AA softball team took the International Senior Softball Association’s World Championship held in late January in Tampa, Fla., said Jeff Clem of Irwin, a first basemen, pitcher and all-around utility player for the team.

Tim Hoffman, the love of my life, died December 11, 2020, after a valiant fight to recover from heart surgery. He will be desperately missed every day. He was born on March 11, 1958 in Mansfield, Ohio, to Bill and Wilma Hoffman, who preceded him in death. He is survived by his wife, Lee Ann Hoffman and sons, Stone and Case Hoffman. He is also survived by his sister, Debbie Hoffman Shakarian; his brother, Marc Hoffman & his wife Kelly; mother-in-law, Carol Haley & her husband Bob; father-in-law, Carl Cseak & his wife Janet; sister-in-law, Lynda Calabrese & her husband Bruce; his niece, Sable (Shakarian) Speed; and nephews, Nick Shakarian, John Calabrese and Steve Calabrese. He is a member of a very large, loving family who will remember him with great love and a lifetime of special memories.
