(WSIL) Perry County Sheriff Steve Bareis will be named the interim police chief in Sesser, while still holding the title of Sheriff.
The Perry County Weekly-Press reported Sheriff Bareis stated he will contract with them for some services to give them some oversight. It may amount to 10-to-15 hours per week.
Bareis told the newspaper, My duties as sheriff come first. My service is to do some inventory and see where they need to adjust and grow.”
Bareis said the Sesser Police Department has four full-time police officers who will take care of patrol duties, while his role will be to “assist and recommend.”
