Officials in Little Rock and North Little Rock said Friday that the cities will continue to keep cooling centers open because of the ongoing heat wave.
Statewide efforts to find relief from the heat continued Wednesday as temperatures neared triple digits, according to the National Weather Service in Little Rock.
The East Little Rock Community Center, located at 2500 E. 6th Street, "will be closed and unavailable as a cooling center until repairs can be made," a tweet said. "The city’s other community centers are still available for those who need to find a safe, cool space to escape the excessive heat."
