And evidently, police and tow truck operators on the island are having a tough time dealing with the extra visitors. Self-described “traffic viking” Cst. Stephen Pannekoek of the Victoria PD posted a Tweet outlining the variety of calls he and his team responded to on Sunday night alone. Apparently they caught up with so many examples of “impaired drivers, noisy vehicles, no [insurance], [and] too many passengers” that their preferred towing partner, Allways Towing, literally ran out of tow trucks.
