A Chinese man who grabbed headlines for introducing his homeland's traditional dishes in one of Zimbabwe's oldest townships, has been jailed and awaits deportation.
There was drama at a sports club in Bulawayo when a tree cutter attempted to cut off a suspected hookerâs hand using a chainsaw over US$40 he had given her to buy beer.
The dramatic incident unfolded after Josphat Maphosa, a tree cutter, gave the woman US$40 to buy beer. The hooker then furtively left him and joined another menâs table at Parkview Sports Club in Paddonhurst before they started enjoying beer together.
This angered Maphosa and he confronted the woman and demanded his money back. The woman told him that she had already used it.
Maphosa went to his car, a Honda Fit which was parked outside before he returned carrying a chainsaw. He switched it on intending to hack the woman before Owen Zhou, 44, and Jephson Zhou, 37, intervened.

A TOP female cop in Bulawayo has been sucked into the case of a clinical officer at Mpilo Central Hospital who was arrested for allegedly masquerading as a medical doctor, treating and seeing patients at a private medical clinic in the city.
Waison Mpala (67) who is on bail and awaiting trial for practising without a valid practising certificate claimed he was arrested by police officers acting at the behest of their boss only identified as Assistant Commissioner Ndlovu who also doubles up as a medical doctor. Asst Comm Ndlovu was also doing private work at the same clinic situated at the city centre with Mpala.
