The owners are currently renovating the old Climb CDC building at 30th Avenue and 13th Street. It has been empty since 2019. After looking at several locations on the Coast, the owners settled on that spot. “We spent around 20 minutes in here and said where do we need to sign. We just fell in love with the place,” said Brian McLelland, co-owner of Sully’s.

Delaware News Journal Delaware prisons, as part of phase 1B of the COVID-19 vaccine rollout, have begun doling out Moderna vaccines to a mixture of correctional officers and at-risk inmates.  But amid high infection rates 2 in 5 Delaware inmates have tested positive for COVID-19, according to data from the Marshall Project  families and activists question whether many at-risk prisoners are being left behind in a vaccination effort that addresses only some and not others, all living in close proximity. So far, correctional officers have been prioritized, with the state Department of Correction giving 623 doses of the vaccine to staff and contractors of all ages and 75 to inmates. The state is starting with inmates over 60 who also have preexisting health conditions like cancer and heart disease, according to Commissioner Claire DeMatteis.

Sean Lynn, D-Dover, the primary sponsor.  The resolution along with a separate bill aimed at allowing some prisoners early release and credit off their sentences due to the pandemic represents the first legislative involvement of the Delaware General Assembly in COVID-19 outbreaks in local prisons, which have seen more than 1,750 prisoners infected and 12 die.
