New Bedford Brothers Arrested for Drugs, Stolen Gun NEW BEDFORD Two brothers were arrested and fentanyl, crack cocaine and a handgun were seized in a raid of a Sylvia Court apartment by New Bedford Police. On Monday, February 22, New Bedford Police Narcotics and Gang Unit detectives seized approximately 47.5 grams of fentanyl, 53.9 grams of crack cocaine, a stolen large capacity handgun, 17 bullets, and $13,947 in cash at 1 Sylvia Court, Apt. 2. The target of the search warrant was Giovanny Acevedo, 32. Acevedo and his brother Rey Acevedo, 33, were both arrested and charged with trafficking and firearm offenses. Giovanny Acevedo currently has an open case out of Third District Court for a drug trafficking case made by Dartmouth Police in October of last year.

New Bedford Police Arrest Two on Fentanyl Charges NEW BEDFORD New Bedford Police seized 115 grams of fentanyl and more than $2,000 in cash Thursday in two separate incidents. Police say that on January 21, Manuel Lema, 54, of 10 Salisbury Street No. 3S, was arrested and charged with trafficking in fentanyl after detectives discovered 75 grams of fentanyl and $1,814 at his residence. Detective Matthew Sylvia led this investigation. They say detectives also seized 40 grams of fentanyl and $245 at 42 Capitol Street, No. 3.
