Inquest findings that a British soldier was unjustified in firing a baton round which killed a Belfast school boy at the height of the Troubles should be quashed due to apparent bias, the High Court has heard.
It was James Heckman, the Nobel prize-winning economist, who said: “Some kids win the lottery at birth – far too many don’t – and most people have a hard time catching up over the rest of their lives.”
The British Army and the Royal Ulster Constabulary (RUC) have been accused of covering up the deaths of children who were shot with plastic bullets during the Troubles.
