(Fremont County, WY) – Round one of the 2021 Mascot Challenge wraps up Thursday at 3:00 p.m. and several teams are in danger of being eliminated.
The four teams with the least amount of votes in the first round will be eliminated from contention. The remaining eight teams will be seeded based on the number of votes they receive and enter head-to-head match-ups beginning Friday.

After 48 hours of voting, we’ve had nearly 10,000 votes cast!
As of Thursday at 6:30 a.m. the Frontier Academy Phoenix are sitting in a commanding first place with over 40% of the overall vote.
Shoshoni’s Wranglers are also in good shape with 26% of the overall vote.
Before we get into year two, let’s take a look back at 2020.

In the first round, voters were asked to pick their favorite mascot out of the 12 possible options. The four with the least votes were eliminated and the top 8 were seeded based on number of overall votes.
St. Stephen’s Eagles, Arapahoe Charter’s Warriors, Pathfinder’s Panthers, and Fort Washakie’s Eagles were eliminated in round one.
The teams moved into head-to-head match-ups in the Elite 8. With thousands of votes cast, we had some pretty narrow differentials.
Wind River’s Cougars beat Wyoming Indian’s Chiefs by just over 600 votes.
