The Pentagon identified on Monday the five special operations aviators who were killed in a training flight crash in the eastern Mediterranean Sea on Friday evening.
The soldiers were named as Chief Warrant Officer 3 Stephen Dwyer, 38; Chief Warrant Officer 2 Shane Barnes, 34; Staff Sargent Tanner Grone, 26; Sargent Andrew Southard, 27; and Sargent Cade Wolfe, 24.
The troops were participating in "routine flight training" when the Blackhawk "experienced an in-flight emergency, resulting in the crash," the U.S. Defense Department said
