The Ondo State Government has declared Wednesday a work-free day.
A statement by the State Head of Service (HoS), Mr Dare Aragbaiye, said the work free day declaration was to mark the swearing in ceremony of Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu for a second term in office.
Recall that Akeredolu was re-elected governor of Ondo State on October 10, 2020, under the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
He defeated the People’s Democratic Party candidate, Eyitayo Jegede, and the current Deputy Governor, Agboola Ajayi, who contested under the platform of the Zenith Labour Party (ZLP).
The venue of the swearing-in ceremony will take place at the International Culture and Event Center, Igbatoro Road, Akure, the state capital.

The Ekiti State House of Assembly has committed two bills to appropriate committees for further legislative scrutiny.
The bills are the Ekiti State Water Supply Sanitation and Hygiene Sector Bill, 2021 and the Criminal Law of Ekiti Bill, 2021.
The Ekiti State Water Supply, Sanitation and Hygiene bill is aimed at the State Water Supply, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH) Sector, and other Agencies, Associations, Committees, and Persons that govern, regulate, provide, and access WASH services in Ekiti State.
The Criminal Law of Ekiti, 2021 on the other hand is targeted at
promoting an orderly society.
Both bills were introduced at the plenary by the Leader of Business, Hon Gboyega Aribisogan with other lawmakers making contributions.
