Book tv recently visited capitol hill and asked husband jim bank about his reading list. This summer i have a very ambitious reading list. Currently im finishing a wellknown book by Stephen Ambrose on the day, a couple of weeks ago i went to the 75th anniversary of dday and im about finished with the book but going there and seeing firsthand what happened there 75 years ago our heroes, the greatest generation, the world war ii veterans who stormed the beaches of normandy and to read the book firsthand and learn more about it, its overwhelming to imagine what they went through. Im also reading seapower. Which just went in paperback. I am a Navy Reserve Officer and have been a champion of bigger, Stronger Navy force posture in this to modulus and dangerous world that we live in today and i just picked up past carters new book, former secretary of defense, two of the best military history books that ive read in recent years have been both secretary panetta secretary aces books.
