Asian Woman Stabbing Death in Riverside Deemed as Random Attack by Police

The woman was stabbed in her abdominal area, said Riverside police Officer Ryan Railsback. “Shortly after, our dispatch center began receiving calls from neighbors reporting a transient woman walking through their yards and appearing suspicious,” Railsback said. “Officers checked the nearby area and safely detained the woman.” “The suspect was identified as 23-year-old Stephanie Montoya, a transient from Monterey Park,” he said. “Preliminary investigation revealed Ms. Meng was walking her two small dogs along Golden Avenue this morning when she was randomly confronted and attacked by the transient woman,” Railsback said. Detectives interviewed Montoya and determined that race did not appear to be a factor in the attack.

SCVNews com | Suffering in Silence : Single Mothers Speak Out on Challenges Amid COVID

Jessica Delazari, a recent College of the Canyons graduate and one of many local single mothers, found herself crying on the floor, sick with COVID-19 knowing she could not take care of her two young daughters as best as she could. It was August 2020 when she and her 3-year-old daughter contracted the virus from her 7-year-old daughter, who Delazari believes became infected at a daycare in Valencia. It was a cry of frustration, stress, and loneliness. It was a cry for help. She had just graduated from college in June and because her job contract as a work-study college assistant ended upon graduation, she was also unemployed and then the virus struck home.
