CLEMSON, S.C. - Clemson and IPTAY celebrated the completion of its $37-million lakefront facilities with a ribbon-cutting ceremony just over a year after breaking ground on the state-of-the-art project. The new facilities include the first-of-its-kind Athlete Recovery Center, dedicated operations and practice complexes for both Gymnastics and Lacrosse programs, as well as the new Clemson Lacrosse Stadium. Student-athletes Bella D’Gracia, Ella Little, Rebecca Wells and Lilly Lippeatt spoke at the event along with University President Jim Clements, Director of Athletics Graham Neff, Executive Senior Associate AD Stephanie Ellison-Johnson, and Head Coaches Allison Kwolek and Amy Smith. The Gymnastics program and the Lacrosse program have officially moved into their new spaces as they open their 2024 seasons. Clemson, S.C. - POWER, a one-of-a-kind leadership program for female Clemson student-athletes, went to Chicago, Illinois on June for its first leadership summit. Eleven talented female student-athletes from six different sports flew in to gain experience in identity, professional presence, self-leadership and community from well-respected women in the Chicago area. Director of Student-Athlete Development, Tori Nieman, and Athletic Leadership Graduate Program Lecturer, Dr. Janna Magette Butler, created an array of opportunities for the student-athletes, both fun and transformative, that made the trip so memorable. After arriving in Chicago, the group headed to Nordstrom to meet with multiple stylists to help the student-athletes learn to create a business professional look that could be worn in interviews after graduating. Clemson Athletics and IPTAY announced on Thursday the launch of HEAR HER ROAR, a fundraising initiative that aims to raise $50 million in support of Clemson Women’s Athletics. Hear Her Roar has been established as the result of many months of collaboration between IPTAY, Clemson Athletics, and the WeCU Inclusive Development and Fundraising Practices Committee, and serves as a key initiative in Clemson's celebration of the 50th Anniversary of Title IX.
