my quick reaction is col kach kaepernick. i think it s disrespectful. if he wants to make a point, write an op-ed, give a speech, don t take it on the feel. steph curry, if he feels strongly he doesn t want to show up, that s his right. i don t begrudge him. if i were the president i d kind of ignore it. maybe leave well enough le alone. people are allowed to express themselves. if i were the president, i wouldn t engage on these subjects. okay. well, let s talk about the battle over health care because he certainly engaged in that as is everybody in congress. i m curious about your assessment of this particular bill. do you think it is better or worse than obamacare? this bill? uh-huh. well, i voted against obamacare. i had problems with it when it was first brought up. the problem is this replacement bill creates enormous problems for states like mine,
of the month. so he s doing what he does and has done throughout the campaign, divisive politics and that s going to rally the white base to turn out for the candidate that he wants to win. he s good at that. the tweet this morning on stephen curry, disinviting them and the golden state warriors to come to the white house, his remarks on the nfl, these are ways in which he can wag the dog and not have anyone pay attention to his policies or what s going on in washington or whether or not health care is going to pass which is much more important and focus on things that are irrelevant to everyday american life. your take on this. but i do want to be clear that the president s tweet appears to just invite steph curry, not necessarily the entire golden state warrior team. that said, your overall take on this. i think there are two things. he s essentially say steph curry
because perhaps the president will have some tweets for that part of the sports world as well. is the president also used twitter to go after a number of republican senators by trying to emphasize where obamacare rates have gone up. he s looking at lisa murkowski of alaska as one possibility. he referenced rand paul of kentucky as well. this week it is that primary race, but it is also a final week where the senate could consider this alternative to obamacare. time running out, republicans cannot afford to lose even one more republican vote. if so, it doesn t happen. alex. to our cavs fan girl, kelly o donnell. let s bring in republican charlie dent of pennsylvania. look, the president going after politician system one thing. now he s saying steph curry. you re one of the world champion nba players. the team can come, but you can t because you ve made it publicly known that you re not really sure touyou want to come to thi white house.
more players to protest. and i agree with her in the idea that players are protesting the language of this president. they re protesting what his candidacy represented. and his comments in alabama further that rift. and yes, charlottesville was one issue but i think his entire campaign the two years before that told people that there was a real problem there. and listen, not to be left out, the nba meanwhile because the president is now disinvented steph curry to the white house after the warrer s guard said he s going to vote no for a traditional championship visit there. curry says their absence will serve as a protest. why is the president obsessed with attacking private citizens, albeit people with celebrity status. this is great for his base. he was in alabama to rally a crowd for his candidate who is running for a special election and a congressional seat, the election is happening at the end
you can t break up with me because i m breaking up with you. steph curry said i m not going to the white house and the president saying it s okay, i don t want you here. of course he would want the nfl players to come there and pose with them. but he s not going to get that so he s trying to get out in front of the news. it was clear that steph curry was not going anywhere near the white house. and the president said in that speech nfl is ruining the game by putting in policies to really protect its players and to protect them from having too many concussions and i think that s really remarkable when you think about what the nfl is going through with cte and all of these sick players. and what we just found out about aaron hernandez this week as well. thanks so much. a bit later this afternoon, a man behind some of the president s funniest speeches will be here. nonspoken difference on and that s why we re running for a third term. no, we re no.
