School pupils and teachers across Inverness had a blast by dressing up as some of their literary heroes to celebrate World Book Day.
Superheroes, princesses, animals and even the BFG were among the characters as the annual event went on for many schools despite coronavirus-related restrictions.
Staff and pupils went the extra mile to make the event happen by arranging in-class and online events that children and parents at home could be involved in.
