Vaccinations begun for staff at the Bolton NHS Foundation Trust today. Almost 250 staff members were vaccinated during the first day of delivery with their first dose of the Pfizer/BioNTech vaccine at Royal Bolton Hospital and a further 700 will follow over the next three days. Steph Leonard, service lead sister for the trust’s Pre-Op Assessment Service was first to receive the vaccine and said: Today means a lot to me because it marks being one step closer to some sort of normality. Unfortunately, I know first-hand what a devastating impact Covid-19 can have on families after losing my dad to the virus a few weeks ago. My mum will be chuffed to bits when I tell her I’ve been vaccinated today, we just want to see each other again and make sure we don’t miss out on any more time with our friends and family.
