things. he sees a blue origin, whether he ll be successful or not as building that infrastructure for future generations to then innovate in ways we can t imagine. that s right. and he said this is not about escaping earth. that s something that drives jeff bezos nuts. he says this is about protecting earth. he says we re never going to find another planet, another moon in our solar system or another galaxy like this as beautiful and livable as earth. so that s different from what elon musk talks about. he talks about cbuilding colonis on mars. bezos, two different visions. i think jeff bezos got the memo that some people were upset that all these billionaires are spending so much money in space with that donation to van jones. $100 million for him to do whatever he wants with. and jose andreas as well. he also said he s going to be
spending his time now that he s stepped down as ceo of amazon, he remains as chairman, he s going to be spending his time a lot more time on blue origin. he said in the past he thinks it s the most important thing he ll do in his life. also focussed on climate change here on earth. his earth fund. and you said one or two other things he hasn t figured out yet but he likes to do multiple things at once. let s look inside the capsule after it had disconnected from the booster rocket. and let s watch and listen to them floating in space. is it everything you thought it would be? fantastic. look. oliver. that s great. can you move your head a little wally, for us? oh, yeah. hi, mom. i love it. oh, my.
and what we do in the following year, i m not sure yet. we ll figure that out. and what the cadence will eventually be, we want it to be very high. one thing we found out through the auction process and what we ve been doing as private sales, we re approaching 100 million in private sales already, and the demand is very, very high. so we re going to keep after that. because we really do want to practice with this vehicle. we re going to have to build more boosters and to fly more frequently, and we re going to work on the operational things we need to do, the things we learned. what practice does is lets you get better. we want to be able right now we have a mission life we think sometime somewhere between 25 and 100 flights for one of these vehicles. we like to make that closer to 100 than to 25. once it s close to 100, we ll push it past 100. that s how you debt operational
