WEYMOUTH Hailey O’Donnell, 14, said she began painting encouraging messages and colorful designs on rocks during the height of the coronavirus pandemic because I had free time.
“They were fun to give to other people and spread kindness,” she added. “I did not realize how happy people would be when I gave them painted rocks.“
O’Donnell said she and her classmates in an English class at Adams Middle School were introduced to painting rocks by their teacher Lanette Griffin-Caldeira, founder of “Weymouth Rocks,” a community kindness project that began in 2019.
“Sometimes I wrote messages like spread kindness, hope or kindness is easily carried, ” she said.
