Alexander McQueen is once again donating surplus material to fashion students Naomi May Storied British fashion house Alexander McQueen is once again donating fabric to fashion institutions across the UK in a bid to reduce surplus waste. The fabric donation scheme was established by the brand’s creative director Sarah Burton in 2019 in a bid to equip burgeoning fashion talents with free resources. “When times are so much more difficult for young creative people, taking action to share our resources and open eyes to opportunities has become a central in-house commitment at Alexander McQueen, which we all take very seriously,” Burton says, “It’s our responsibility to extend our programme of practical help and encouragement to students and fashion schools.”
