The men’s singles final was an entertaining contest between the top two seeds Ajeet Rai and Isaac Becroft. Coming into the contest the two had played four times since COVID-19 lockdown, splitting the four matches so it was always going to be a tight contest. Play went with serve until Becroft broke the Rai serve at 4-4 and the Wellington local took full advantage of his opportunity to close out the first set. Becroft made a fast start to the second set getting an early break to give him full control, but Rai fought back straight away to get back to 2-1 down.
