Karen Neag was enjoying one of her favorite family pastimes Thursday night walking around Burr Pond State Park in Torrington with her husband, daughter and two dogs.
The jaunt, while an occasion to celebrate her husband’s birthday, had another purpose.
An hour earlier, Neag had picked up her 24-year-old daughter, Stephanie, from the group home where she lives on the other side of town and where workers were expected to walk off the job Friday morning.
she had been waiting for a kidney for ten years. effie and ira wanted to meet randa as soon as she got out of the hospital, and today we joined them. on the way to randa s house, ira tells me she s glad someone else will be able to live because of yigal. they climb that stairway nervous, and then for the first time they meet. from different cultures but speaking the language of compassion. and i ask ira about the way she was caressing randa s arm. she says, i m just trying to feel yigal again. [ speaking foreign language ] reporter: and before parting ira says, take care of yourself. you re now taking care of two people. they hold each other, a moment of grace and hope. grace and hope. powerful gift and an unexpected bond. thank you, matt, and thank you at home.

RIDGEFIELD Harry Paschalidis said his father, Dimitrios, was so hardworking that he achieved the American dream twice. Over the course of 50 years the Norwalk resident built an empire of eateries across Fairfield County, working upwards of 100 hours a week even into his 70s.
PAS holds Effie Pakistan Awards

KARACHI: Pakistan Advertisers Society (PAS) held the first jury round of its Effie Pakistan Award programme for the marketing and advertising industry, a statement said.
The event was about ‘awarding ideas that work’ and celebrating the success of the industry.
Effie Pakistan is part of a global award programme which includes 52 national programmes, four regional and one global award programme. It aims to lead, inspire and champion the practice and practitioners of marketing effectiveness and is a symbol of achievement that is widely respected worldwide.
This year’s competition was launched in September 2020 and was open to all companies and advertising agencies that ran marketing campaigns between Jul1, 2019 to September 30, 2020.
