FedEx Express Further Modernises Fleet With Delivery of First Purpose-Built Regional ATR Freighter
Delivering more than just cargo, FedEx fleet of new customised regional ATR freighter aircraft will help bring goods and services to communities around the world
FedEx Express, a subsidiary of FedEx Corp. (NYSE: FDX) and the world’s largest express transportation company, announced today the delivery of the first ever purpose-built turboprop regional freighter to the FedEx fleet. This follows the company’s 2017 signing of a firm order of 30 aircraft, with the option to purchase 20 more. The aircraft will arrive at Shannon Airport and will be operated by ASL Airlines Ireland, a FedExATR operator since 2000, as part of the FedEx Express Feeder fleet. This global fleet allows the company to provide fast, economical services to small and medium-sized business areas around the world.

FedEx signed a firm order for 30 ATR freighters in 2017, with the option to purchase 20 more. FedEx already has over 40 ATR turboprops in its existing fleet.
The aircraft will be operated by ASL Airlines Ireland from Shannon Airport. ASL has been a FedEx ATR operator since 2000, as part of the FedEx Express Feeder fleet.

ATR has handed over the first of 30 factory-built ATR 72-600 Freighters to launch customer FedEx Express, with the twin-turboprop to make its commercial debut on European routes in the coming weeks.
FedEx will receive a further six or seven examples in 2021 and the remainder will follow in the period to 2025 at a maximum rate of six aircraft per year, says Scot Struminger, executive vice-president and chief executive of aviation at the express carrier.

Speaking during an online delivery event today, Struminger said the first aircraft (EI-GUL) will be flown to Shannon airport for “customisation” – including the addition of an enhanced vision system – before it enters service with Irish operator ASL Airlines.
Air Saint-Pierre Upgrades Fleet with ATR 42-600
(11 Dec 2020) Air Saint-Pierre today took delivery of a new ATR 42-600 aircraft.
Air Saint-Pierre is based in Saint-Pierre and Miquelon, a French overseas collectivity of around around 6,300 inhabitants.
The airline operates scheduled services between the islands of Saint-Pierre and Miquelon-Langlade and to Canada. Its main base is Saint-Pierre Airport, from which it serves five destinations. In addition to the collectivity s other airport, Miquelon Airport, it serves five airports in Canada.
The new aircraft will replace the airline’s existing ATR 42-500 which has been in operation since 2009. Air Saint-Pierre also operates a Reims-Cessna F406 on inter-island services.
