Digital Twin technology may save lives and solve the biggest challenges facing humanity

What is a digital twin? Simply stated a digital twin is a virtual or digital replica of a living organism, or a part of that organism like a heart or lungs. A digital twin is created from data points such as imaging records, in-person measurements, lab results and genetics. All of that data is then used to map out an exact digital replica of an individual.

Wastewater analysis shows drug use in Slovenian cities mostly below int average

Slovenia Times 19. May, 2021 Ljubljana – Slovenian cities are mostly below international average when it comes to the use of illicit drugs, with the exception of ecstasy levels in Ljubljana and amphetamine in Velenje, an international study based on waste water analysis for 2020 has shown. The study, released by the European Monitoring Centre for Drugs and Drug Addiction, in cooperation with the SCORE network, involved 99 cities in 27 countries with a total population of 50 million, including six Slovenian cities or urban areas. According to information provided by the Jožef Stefan Institute (IJS), which coordinates the study in Slovenia, Ljubljana recorded the highest levels of biomarkers of cocaine, ecstasy and methamphetamine in its wastewater, while Velenje had the highest level of traces of amphetamine among the six Slovenian towns included in the study.

Minister Koritnik says public trust key in introducing AI

April, 2021 Brussels/Ljubljana – Slovenian Public Administration Minister Boštjan Koritnik has told a forum hosted by the Brussels subsidiary of Microsoft that public trust was the necessary condition for effective, rapid and successful introduction of artificial intelligence (AI) in a wide spectrum of areas where it might bring extraordinary effects. At the online event called Data Science & Law Forum 3.0, Koritnik as one of the key speakers also talked about Slovenia’s achievements in this field, the Public Administration Ministry said in a press release on Wednesday. The minister said that AI had a great potential in sustainable development of society, while cases of use pointed to the increasing concern due to the possible malicious influence.
