nancy pelosi, the new house speaker, has said there will be no wall. it s pretty difficult to walk back from that. the administration has given perhaps a smidge of wiggle room in which it said maybe it could be called a fence, steel slats, something or other of that nature. it s possible both sides could eventually reach some kind of wink-wink, nod-nod agreement where it s over semantics. both claim victory, and nothing really happens that they don t like, but we will see. we re still a ways off from that. jon: okay, but what is there that democrats could offer republicans, for instance, that would, you know, get both sides back to the negotiating table? democrats could perhaps if up the amount of money they are putting forward for what they call border security. so far congressional democrats have said they are willing to appropriate, give out $1.3 billion for border security. maybe they go up to $1.4, 1.5
