Another Steam Labs experiment has graduated from the program and made its way to the regular Steam client.
This latest addition is Steam News Hub, a dedicated space within Steam for its users to find news, updates, and events for the games they ve interacted with on the digital game platform.
It first debuted way back in March as Experiment 009, aiming to offer a personalized feed of news, both from game makers and from Steam News Curators (like Gamasutra!).
As a full Steam feature, a blog post explains the tool aims to offer personalized news right out of the box, but also allow Steam users to customize what info is fed to them and where that info is coming from.

Steam Labs - new ways to browse Steam!
In news that we definitely care about at GameDiscoverCo, Valve has rolled out its latest Steam Labs experimental feature. And its overview is pretty much exactly like this:
Steam s News Hub is now officially live pcgamesn.com - get the latest breaking news, showbiz & celebrity photos, sport news & rumours, viral videos and top stories from pcgamesn.com Daily Mail and Mail on Sunday newspapers.
(Pocket-lint) - Valve is often running new experiments within the Steam store in order to improve user experience and make it easier to discover new content. Now a new addition includes the ability to filter and see adult only content.
That s not the aim of this update of course. The new experiment is designed to surface more games across a wider set of categories with Steam s ever-expanding library of games. The idea being to make it easier to find what you like based on sub-genres, themes, player modes and more.
This update adds two sections, new and noteworthy which includes popular and trending games and top sellers and then the much more detailed categories section. This menu offers up all manner of genres, including everything from walking simulators to shooters, visual novels to action RPGs. You can filter games by theme and look for games with a female protagonist or Science Fiction & Cyberpunk Games (we wonder what game is most popular there right now).
