who believes that perhaps this was a stealth juror, somebody who was able to get himself onto the jury with a mind set that was already set in stone. do you think that that is a possibility in this case as well? you know, christi, it s a possibility. i think reasonable minds could disagree. whether you think that one juror is reasonable having seen the evidence, having looked at the five shots in the back, he shot him eight times, he was running away. so whether that one juror would be deemed reasonable i think could be questioned, but i d like to think that, look, jurors sit, you have 55 witnesses in this case. this juror, whatever reason, many of america internationally may disagree feels a certain way. could it be a stealth juror? potentially. maybe it s a juror as many
we ll have to try the case again. i just want to reiterate here. this is a jury of 11 white jurors, one african-american. there were 55 witness whose testified. slager took the stand and argued self-defense which i know is unusual. the cell phone video has been the most compelling. many people have looked at that video and said they thought that this case was a done deal. just based on that video. is this, though, if this is not a stealth juror, is this an indication of how you can watch the same video but have such different ideas about it? yeah, we have to start with this premise. it s very difficult to convict a police officer of anything when he or she does something in the line of duty. we still as jurors and as people, we give them great deference. quite honestly i think that s
colorado, you have to wonder, even this they did pronounce death, would it have been carried out and, therefore, would it have only been largely symbolic? let s play some sound from one of the jurors and then talk about it on the other side. we did our best to come to a unanimous verdict, of course. it was not possible. there was one firm holdout against the death penalty and two that were still in the process of discussing. they were on the fence. but i don t know if they could have been swayed or not. so one was a definitive holdout for them. do you believe that there might have been a stealth juror in this case? you know, it s always hard to know and i m sure that matter will be investigated and you might recall, christi, us speaking about jodi arias in arizona where one juror potentially could have been a planted juror, however you like to call it, who held out and said i m not voting for death and here we go again in another
guilty on that, right? that was part of their strategy. i assume it came from mr. bulger himself. he wanted a certain strategy for his defense. i think he knew he was dead right on some of these charges so they admitted that up front because his concern seems to have been the killing of women, children and this heroin instance. there s a big issue about how he didn t want people to think he introduced heroin to south boston. gregg: it s an interesting defend. the robin hood defense. i didn t kill widows and i did help with drug money but it was not heroin. he s concerned about his reputation, maybe because of the fact he knows he s going to prison and he s worried about his reputation in prison. gregg: is there a way he can escape with a stealth juror? if you re a skilled attorney, you do your best to try to get rid of those people early on. gregg: and we have to worry
died in committee with scott randolph, so that no juror could make money for six months after they served their jury duty. they could talk, but what happened is somebody would talk before somebody ould could get money and that would kill future money deals. that would be stopping a stealth juror. doesn t impede on the first amendment rights. they can t get pay for it for six months after the service. one more reason i adore you. that is absolutely so wonderful. thank you. it died after casey anthony and hopefully with this, we can at least resurrect that have some good come out of this mess we fine ourselves in. if we ignore it and keep doing the same thing, what s the definition of insanity? continuing the same behavior and expecting the same results. these six women on the jury, to a lot of folks out there, you know this, their decision, not guilty, unanimous decision obviously, is was not popular
