Significant progress is being made on the vaccination front, with over 70 percent of adults receiving their first dose, surpassing our neighbours in the United States. Eleven local pharmacies now offer the Moderna and Pfizer vaccines as new data and supplies allow the program to expand. The Pfizer vaccine has also been approved for our youth 12 years old and older. You can book your appointment at www.ontario.ca/bookvaccine or by calling 1-888-999-6488 if you have a red and white OHIP card, need assistance, or wish to book multiple appointments. publisher May 28, 2021 - 1:49pm Ontario has reached a key milestone in its fight against COVID-19, having achieved its target to administer first doses to 65 per cent of Ontarians aged 18 and over ahead of schedule. The province is also preparing to roll out the eligibility for accelerated second dose appointments starting with individuals aged 80 and over, beginning May 31. If there is sufficient vaccine supply, it is anticipated that the majority of Ontario residents who choose to receive the vaccine will be able to be fully vaccinated by the end of summer. Ontario has already begun offering second doses of the AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccine at an accelerated pace with a 10-week interval for individuals who received their first dose between March 10 to March 19, 2021.
