You have got to know that you are not a plantation to produce more dumb negroes with degrees. You have got to make the colleges teach the things that will make young people builders instead of beggars. Meet me tomorrow at the jw marriott, 10 11 00. And we want to talk about whats next. Until then, oh, god, you have made me so happy today just to look into your beautiful faces. I want you when you leave here to go home to your wives and your families and before you leave, i want you to greet the people around you, hug them and tell them i love you. Embrace your native Indigenous People and tell them we love you. And our mexican family, embrace them and tell them you love them and from this day forward, this day of a demand for justice will never end until justice is ours so t so today is the beginning of that movement that will never end. All local organizing committees, you got to stay focused and keep working. Its not over. Its just begun. Thank you for listening. [applause] come on,
My questions on the safety bill i introduced with the Ranking Member and congresswoman capps. The companion legislation pass td senate with bipartisan support as part of the senates highway bill, and is supported by the rental car industry. Many of them are here today. Consumer organizations and General Motors and honda and others. It would ensure that rental Car Companies fix recalled vehicles in their fleets before renting or selling them. So let me ask you, mr. Administrator, thank you for coming today, come to opponents of the legislation said rental Car Companies should be allowed to rent or sell unrepaired, defective, recalled cars, unless the manufacturer has specifically issued a, do not drive warning. Is there any federal standard for when a do not drive warning must be issued . Thank you for pointing that out because that do not drive issiis issued by the manufacturer, not nhtsa. Theyre determining whether or not the criteria would be to allow that to occur on a rental or use
Automotive space . What form of guidance are you currently giving . Have you laid that out, and what do you intend to do . Because we all know you cant be technology specific, if you will. Youre going to have to umbrella this. Speak for just a moment before we run out of time. Speak to that. I can just very quickly tell you, some of those are already clearly outlined. Things like the electronic data recorders that exist. There are privacy concerns there. They, for example, dont collect anything about the drivers. Those already have fairly clear its more communications issue. I think what were now talking about is a lot of new areas that we are just understanding. Because our cars are computers. Youve highlighted something important. Its going to require increased collaboration between our agenesis for us to be able to apply our expertise, so we make sure we protect people. When there are malicious attempts to go after the data, we have ways to keep people protected. I appreciate that.
I had a conversation a few years africa aboutaharan human sexuality. Were deeply into it. Theiristened, sense of betrayal you have to let yourself be touched by that. You cannot reject it as a direct s an ignorant view. Part of the dialogue is a dialogue that has great pain. We must let ourselves be hurt. Because i with it like all of us i dont like to be hurt. I dont like to feel pain. I go a long way to avoid it, emotional pain particularly. Does that make any sense . Very much. Tom im afraid we have to close it down now. The archbishop has to be leaving. One final thought. We have been talking a lot about issues climate change, migration, violence better handled by secular institutions. Do you see any challenge, danger in the church becoming too secularized by its focus on these institutions . What you mentioned is very important. The importance of not soft peddling. Archbishop welby i think there is. Us,ink making people like we can end up saying the wrong thing about everything. N
A young boy can aspire to go to college, can aspire to go to law school, can aspire to own a business and can do that without having to need the government to depend on. [applause] and that young boy can move to idaho, and can decide that he wants to run for office because he wants to make america once again what it used to be, give other young people that opportunity to grow and to expand and to become great in the United States. Can run for a state legislative state, and that boy can win, and that boy can then decide that he wants to go to congress, and he decides that in his state, where theres less than 1 people of his panic puerto rican dissent and less than 9 hispanic dissent, the majority of the state will send him to congress. [applause] not because he fits a particular class or fits a particular idea of what a person should look like or should sound like but because he believes in the vam that makes america great. [applause] its because of you, when the Tea Party Got behind me
