Kody Ford knows a little bit about the arts and culture scene in Northwest Arkansas. As the founder of The Idle Class Magazine, a publication that celebrates the creative economy in Northwest Arkansas, it was his job to have his finger on the pulse of all that was happening in the rich Northwest Arkansas world of performing and visual arts. So when Arkansas Cinema Society founders Kathryn Tucker and Jeff Nichols were looking for someone to serve in the role as director of Statewide Outreach and Educational Programming and Northwest Arkansas Program Director, Ford seemed a natural fit.

Maryland School for the Blind to dedicate The Maryland Society for Sight Low Vision Clinic at MSB Posted on NOTTINGHAM, MD The Maryland School for the Blind has received a $400,000 gift from the Maryland Society for Sight, Inc., which will be used to help fund the school’s statewide outreach programs and services and to expand and enhance the low vision clinic on the school’s campus. The newly named Maryland Society for Sight Low Vision Clinic at MSB will be dedicated on January 27 at 6:00 p.m. in a virtual ribbon-cutting and dedication ceremony. The Maryland Society for Sight, a community funded organization that was dedicated to preserving the vision of all Marylanders, closed its doors in early 2020. Staff and volunteers of the organization performed eye screenings and educated over 30,000 Marylanders in the course of its 110 year history. Arkansas Cinema Society hires NWA program director; plans to open ACS office in the region Kody Ford, a Fayetteville resident, UCA/University of Arkansas graduate and founder of The Idle Class magazine, will become ACS’ director of statewide outreach and educational programming/NWA program director. ACS plans to open an office in the Northwest Arkansas region and to launch a variety of efforts to foster the creative community there. After growing roots in Central Arkansas, the organization plans to open an office and launch a variety of efforts to support filmmakers and the creative community in NWA.
