Australia has won its first gold medal of the Tokyo Olympics, with the women s 4x100 metres freestyle relay team winning in world record time.
Bronte Campbell, Cate Campbell, Emma McKeon and Meg Harris finished in 3 minutes, 29.78 seconds ahead of Canada (3:32.78) and USA (3:32:81).
Their time beat the previous world record, set by an Australian team at the 2018 Gold Coast Commonwealth Games.
It is Australia s third consecutive Olympic gold medal in the event.
