As a sophomore, Smackover’s Taylor Darden lost a tough first-round match in the first round of the 3A State Tennis Tournament. She fell in three sets (5-7, 6-2, 7-5) to a player who would advance to the state semifinals.
Darden will return to the state tournament on Monday with confidence gained from last year’s experience.
