Press release… Attorneys today filed suit on behalf of the family of 90-year-old Richard Cieski, Sr., a Korean War veteran who died in November 2020 following exposure to the novel coronavirus at the LaSalle Veterans’ Home. The facility was negligent in failing to protect their husband and father from the virus, the family says, citing the facility’s apparent lack of precautions or preparation from the beginning of the pandemic in March 2020 to the start of the November outbreak that ultimately resulted in the death of 36 residents. Mr. Cieski died on November 15, 2020, having been exposed to the virus during that outbreak.

Coal City District 1 Endorses Climate Union Jobs Act in Bid to Help Save Dresden Nuclear Station

On March 30th, Coal City District 1 formally endorsed an energy bill under consideration by the Illinois general assembly. A large portion of the schoolâs budget comes from tax revenue generated by Dresden Nuclear Station, which is now slated to close. The Climate Union Jobs Act, sponsored in part by State Senator Sue Rezin, would invest millions of taxpayer dollars into modernizing and preserving the stateâs energy industry. Superintendent Kent Bugg called into WCSJ to explain why the board chose to back this bill.
