Bank of Baroda gains on successfully closing QIP issue

Bank of Baroda rose 3.37% to Rs 86 after the state-run lender said it has closed the qualified institutional placement (QIP) issue, which was conducted to raise up to Rs 4,500 crore. The capital raising committee has approved the closure of the QIP issue on 2 March 2021 pursuant to the receipt of application forms and the funds in the escrow account from eligible qualified institutional buyers. The issue opened on 25 February 2021. Last week, the committee had approved raising upto Rs 4,500 crore through an issue of equity shares through QIP route. The committee approved the issue price of Rs 81.70 per equity share (including a premium of Rs 79.70), which is at a discount of 5% (Rs 4.28 per equity share) to the floor price of Rs 85.98 apiece, Bank of Baroda (BoB) said in a regulatory filing on Tuesday.

Sensex, Nifty end flat amid volatile session; auto shares buck trend

The domestic equity benchmarks ended almost flat after a volatile session on Wednesday. The Nifty regained 15,000 mark after slipping below that level in intraday trade. Investors booked profits after recent steep gains. As per provisional closing data, the barometer index, the S&P BSE Sensex, slipped 19.69 points or 0.04% to 51,309.39. The Nifty 50 index lost 2.80 points or 0.02% to 15,106.50. The broader market outperformed the benchmark indices. The S&P BSE Mid-Cap index rose 0.71%. The S&P BSE Small-Cap index gained 0.42%. Sellers outpaced buyers. On the BSE, 1486 shares rose and 1476 shares fell. A total of 163 shares were unchanged. COVID-19 Update: Total COVID-19 confirmed cases worldwide stood at 10,69,03,452 with 23,41,010 deaths. India reported 1,41,511 active cases of COVID-19 infection and 1,05,61,608 deaths while 1,55,252 patients have been discharged, according to the data from the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India.

Key equity barometers pared losses after hitting fresh intraday low in mid-afternoon trade. FMCG shares declined for the third session. The Nifty regained 15,000 mark after slipping below that level in intraday trade. At 14:23 IST, the barometer index, the S&P BSE Sensex, tumbled 255.62 points or 0.50% to 51,073.46. The Nifty 50 index skid 69.80 points or 0.46% to 15,039.50. The broader market outperformed the benchmark indices. The S&P BSE Mid-Cap index rose 0.41%. The S&P BSE Small-Cap index gained 0.14%. Sellers outpaced buyers. On the BSE, 1274 shares rose and 1624 shares fell. A total of 157 shares were unchanged. Numbers to Track: In the foreign exchange market, the partially convertible rupee appreciated to 72.82 compared with its previous closing of 72.87.
