november, connecting to latino voters is the key to victory for democrats and republicans. all too often these voters are ignored, taken for granted or treated like a monolith. i had a chance to sit down and talk with latino voters here in miami on issues they actually care about heading into 2022. our conversation was fascinating. we talked from sun up to sundown. take a look. you re obviously all voters, but how many of you guys are voting in those off year elections, even though there s really no off year elections right? the local state houses, the local state reps. federal elections, school board elections, who is heavily engage instead that space? you are. i happen to be have in tune with what is happening locally. i wasn t as much with school board until now. recently we had the whole issue with the mask mandate and myself as a parent i got very involved.
on friday the house passed the women s health protection act which would allow health care professionals to provide patients with an abortion that s by any limitations a state may impose, like texas. but frankly that bill faces an uphill battle in the senate, and we can t look for help from the increasingly right wing supreme court, which will take up the case at the end of the year that could actually overturn roe v. wade. the only way you can stop the surge of these anti-abortion laws across the country is by voting and removing from office the people who stand between you and the liberty you have over your own body. this is just part of the reason that 18 states have enacted 30 voter restriction laws. the state houses are where these laws are passed, so while federal elections tend to suck up all the oxygen in the room, guys, pay attention to your state reps and state senators and make sure they represent your values and not your
existed. we had no idea that this was going to be an evacuation site. at tehe end of the day there wa probably 1,000 people in this warehouse because you have workers and support staff. i know that days after the storm hit and this information about this facility was exposed that there were till many families who didn t know where their grandmothers, grandfathers were. do we know if every one has been accounted for yet? to my knowledge they have been and to segue to that position, i received a call that night from one of the fellow state reps who said i have a constituent we think is housed in the facility. their family doesn t know if they are alive or sddeceased. i called the kcoroner to see wht the names of the deceased were. they misspelled the gentleman s name and he was located in
