Gov. Lombardo vetoed SB 340, which would have required school districts and the State Public Charter School Authority to provide summer school in 2023 and 2024.
Charter schools comprise the third largest district in Nevada serving nearly 60,000 students across five counties. During the last school year, twenty-two of the twenty-four charter high schools under the domain of the State Public Charter School Authority (SPCSA) exceeded the statewide graduation rate. The SPCSA-sponsored schools' class of 2022 had an 86 percent four year graduation rate, topping the state average by more than 4 percent.
