negotiations and what her state needs in the face of destructive flooding. good to see you. thanks for your time this afternoon. thank you. glad to be with you. the detroit metro area is grappling with the impact of flooding from a torrent of rain this past weekend. how is your administration providing assistance to those folks whose homes and belongings have been destroyed? second it also strikes me that this flooding highlights the urgent need for revitalized infrastructure in michigan. there s no question about it. this is climate change meeting with decades of underinvestment in infrastructure. this is what s happening. we ve had freeways that were flooded. we ve had homes that were flooded. i declared an emergency very early onto get the process started. i went and looked at the damage yesterday. we took an aerial view in a state police helicopter. also we were on the ground, visited with a number of municipal leaders.
