The Philippines is extending its COVID-19 state of calamity status for “possibly” until the last quarter of the year to allow the country to have emergency procurement benefits and to continue giving allowances for healthcare workers, among others.
President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. has extended the state of calamity throughout the Philippines due to COVID-19 until December 31, 2022, the Office of the Press Secretary confirmed on Monday.
BARMM Chief Minister Ahod Ebrahim signed Proclamation No. 3 which states that the state of calamity will be in effect starting August 18 to October 31, 2022.
