Following the announcement of a $2.3 billion plan to build a new manufacturing facility producing batteries for electric vehicles at the General Motors Spring Hill plant, the Maury County Commission approved a resolution to build an access road at the site.
The route to the new plant will connect to Highway 31 and be constructed in accordance to the Industrial Highway Act of 1959, which authorizes the Tennessee Department of Transportation to contract with cities and counties for the construction and maintenance of industrial highwaysto provide access to industrial areas and to facilitate the development and expansion of industry within the state.
Dickson Council OKs applications for road, dog park funds

That vote took place during the council’s monthly meeting.
The council approved a resolution to authorize the mayor to sign and execute all required documents for an application to the Tennessee Department of Transportation’s State Industrial Access program to improve .4 of a mile of Two Mile Road located inside the city limits.
Mayor Don Weiss Jr. said the SIA funds would be used to improve the road to accommodate the anticipated increase in traffic that could result from the construction of a fuel storage facility by Titan Partners LLC.
