oath of office, that is we believe is connected to donald trump s personal involvement and recorded calls to state officials. we have several false statement charges that echo something we ve seen in other cases. we ve seen a lot of evidence from that here coming out of georgia. we have solicitation of violation of oath of a public officer, again, those are the kind of state crimes in regard to state officials. so this is related to trump s wider reference to overthrow a federal election. but the theory of the case here is the state crime committed. i see impersonating a public officer, that is interesting. i want to learn more about that. and a conspiracy to the same effect. i see forgery, and a conspiracy related to forgery. filing false documents, forgery in the first degree. so a lot of lying those are state laws about lying. a criminal attempt to commit influencing of witnesses. some have seen donald trump coming very close to another investigations, but this is now a state indi
this is this is set aside a state indictment. estate conviction is a different um, as a different animal than a federal conviction. is that a fair assessment? it is and under the georgia law. there s a statute that limits the republican governors ability to pardon and i think that the legislature in georgia needs to amend that statute and give governor kemp the ability to pardon and the situation because this is clear election interference is clear. democrat law affair by democrat prosecutors where they re trying to have democrat prosecutors, democrat judges and democrat juries and democrat hellholes decide the next presidential election instead of the american people. yeah it really is. it s one of those things where there s so much involved in this back to you very quickly cash to tell. because the news conference we anticipate we just saw a couple of the staff people walked by. we anticipate the funding. willis will come out to the microphone sometime in the next few seconds. the yo
yeah, that. jenner, great to have you. thank you so much. just to kind of update you here, we are continuing coverage of breaking news for one more hour because this a big one. this is the fourth indictment against the former president, the united states. this one brought in state court. the legalities a little bit different, but in essence, it is one more indictment and a long list president donald trump been indicted in fulton county, georgia. this is the first state indictment. we want to bring in matt finn, who has been outside the courthouse all day long covering this. what are you hearing? we heard from the da, fani willis a short time ago, not willing to bring up the answer about this document that apparently leaked out earlier and she said she is not quoting
the difference between a state indictment and a federal indictment and the way they usually read, is there because there are so many more people involved in this one as opposed to just one, does a more complex story necessarily mean that it is a tougher prosecution? no, not at all. barbara was on the air last night talking about how she would prosecute the case, the way the indictment is laid out is chronological so it doesn t lend itself to the easy narrative that you are talking about but you can separate the overlapping schemes into different buckets, yes, there is a fake electors scheme, but there s also the pressure campaign, there s false statements and litigation filings, there s false statements to legislative hearings that were used to try to pressure georgia legislators to come back in a special session. so there are definitely stories here, you just have to sort of disaggregate the chronological story and put them in their proper bucket with what these people are trying to
i mean, if the judge does sign off on the prosecutor s proposal date for this trial, january 2nd, it could affect his ability to campaign ahead of the states caucuses, which are scheduled written for january the 15th. how do you think the trial will play generally, well to disrupt trump s campaign. is this going to have an actual material impact on his ability to campaign? even if it doesn t necessarily impact his standing with voters? , right and this is just one of many. right? i mean, there is the this is the second one state indictment, and another one probably coming next week. so yeah, i mean, look, he is going to play this politically. it has worked with the gop base so far. the other candidate, you know, with the person who was his sort of competition, what, 30, 40 points behind him? i mean, he can barely get 20
