Morral woman joins Ohio’s “Saved by the Belt” Club
MARION – Jessica J. Greashaber of Morral joined Ohio’s “Saved by the Belt” Club after her safety belt saved her from sustaining life-threatening injuries. The crash occurred on Irvin Shoots Road in Marion County on Feb. 22.
Ohio State Highway Patrol Lieutenant Lance S. Shearer, Marion Post commander, presented her with a “Saved by the Belt” certificate signed by Ohio Department of Public Safety Director Thomas J. Stickrath and Colonel Richard S. Fambro, Patrol superintendent.
Provisional data from 2020 shows 487 people in Ohio were killed in traffic crashes where a safety belt was available but not in use.

Auditor s office recognized for financial reporting
MARION - Marion City Auditor Robert Landon is announcing the City of Marion has been awarded the prestigious Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting from the Government Finance Officers Association. The City of Marion’s financial report has been reviewed by an impartial panel and judged against the standards of the GFOA’s award requirements.
The Comprehensive Annual Financial Report composed in 2020 reports on the 2019 fiscal year. Presented by the Marion City Auditor’s Office, this report meets the highest criteria for informing and educating the public on its financial status and activities.
